Introducing standing room mag Issue 02, with our cover star @grentperez There is a particular discomfort in growing up: the realisation that the person you are becoming might not have much in common with the person you once were. The things that came naturally begin to require consideration; the freedom of being young gives way to the awareness of how you are perceived. Somewhere between the two, it becomes difficult to tell whether you have outgrown an earlier version of yourself or simply learned to keep it in check. For Grent Perez, that tension has taken on a name. goose, his forthcoming EP, places Grent in conversation with Goose, a younger, more playful alter ego who appears to have little interest in the responsibilities of being an adult. Where Grent is measured by the person he has become, Goose offers a return to the instincts, impulses and irreverence that can get lost along the way. The two are not necessarily at odds because one is right and the other wrong. Rather, their conflict raises a more interesting question: what happens when growing up starts to feel like growing away from yourself? It is an idea that gives goose a life beyond the familiar exercise of an artist reflecting on personal growth. The relationship between Grent and Goose creates room to examine the competing versions of ourselves that coexist, often uneasily, beneath a single name. There is the person we present to the world, the person we believe we ought to be, and the one who still wants to do things simply because they feel good. Maturity might mean learning to live with those differences, rather than deciding which version deserves to survive. HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis N.O.R.E. pulled up on NYC content creator SOBER FACTS, real name Jason Rodriguez, and checked him over their longstanding issues stemming from the influencer’s use of the n-word. The food reviewer is of Dominican descent and is based out of Corona, Queens, nearby Noreaga’s LeFrak City neighborhood. ___________________________________________________ Now, in a video posted to Upper Cut Podcast’s YouTube on June 16, 2026, SOBER FACTS revealed their issues stemmed from his use of the n-word. He said N.O.R.E. — who is of Puerto rican and African American descent — checked the influencer about it and their back-and-forth began. He said N.O.R.E. told him that their issues could be squashed if SOBER FACTS simply stops using the n-word. However, the content creator opted against obliging to the rapper’s wishes. By September 2, 2026, SOBER FACTS — who prides himself on not drinking, smoking, etc. — posted a video outside of N.O.R.E.’s old apartments and continued to slam him for “drinking, smoking, and self-destructing.” ___________________________________________________ On Saturday (October 31), SOBER FACTS was g-checked by N.O.R.E. in person. He uploaded a video of the rapper popping up on him as he filmed outside a restaurant in NYC. In the video, N.O.R.E. aired out his grievances and SOBER FACTS simply listened and watched, stunned. Hours after the N.O.R.E. confrontation, SOBER FACTS uploaded another video, this time, he was amped up and going off on the rapper. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 @soberfacts / @uppercut.podcast
