This is where the fight for our oceans begins.

Our rivers are the veins of our planet. Yet 80% of trash entering our oceans comes from the rivers. Indonesia is home to some of the most plastic-polluted rivers on Earth, dumping approximately 1 million tons of plastic waste through waterways every single year, straight into the sea.

But what if we could stop it before it ever reached the ocean? 🌊

That’s exactly what we’re doing with our river trash barriers. These simple structures act like a net for the planet, catching plastic waste as it moves downstream, before it disappears forever into the deep blue.

In East Lombok, we trained a passionate local team to build and install these barriers themselves whilst collaborating with the local government and the largest waste bank community of Indonesia.

They now have the skills to protect their rivers, their coastline, and their community, while creating new green jobs in waste collection and recycling. ♻️

✨ Each barrier traps hundreds of kilos of waste per week before it reaches the sea.
✨ Each training empowers a community to protect its land and waters.
✨ Each step brings us closer to an ocean free of plastic.

This is what regenerative impact looks like.
And we’re just getting started.

Let’s clean the rivers. Let’s heal the ocean. Together. 🌎🫧🐠
