The Head Outside Awards celebrate individuals and organisations using the power of the outdoors to improve mental health.

We believe in the power of storytelling. Stories have the ability to inspire, connect, break down barriers, and remind us that we are not alone. The Head Outside Awards exist to share and celebrate these compelling stories, which is why it feels right to introduce the Outstanding Media Initiative Award.

Outstanding Media Initiative

This award recognises impactful storytelling, creative campaigns, and compelling media projects that inspire people to embrace outdoor activities for better mental health. Whether it’s film, podcasting, photography, journalism, digital content, or social media campaigns, we’re looking for media that sparks meaningful conversations, raises awareness, and drives positive action.

Nominate someone you admire or submit your own media project that's making waves in mental health through outdoor engagement. Nominations for all other categories are open until 31st of August. Earlier nominations receive the benefit of feedback or requests for elaboration or further supporting evidence to it pays to get them in early!
