The GOP is soul-searching after Tuesday’s election losses. Some Republicans laid the blame solely at the feet of President Donald Trump, saying Minnesota voters weren’t repudiating the platform of local Republicans so much as voicing a broader frustration. Yet others in the GOP said Minnesota Republican candidates were at fault, too, for failing to break harder from Trump. They argued local Republicans need new ideas and strategies in an era of deep frustration with the president. Swipe through to read what a few Republicans have said and tap the link in our bio to read the full report by Walker Orenstein and Ryan Faircloth. BREAKING: HOLY SMOKES! Democrats now control enough states to potentially abolish the Electoral College through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Republicans did NOT have this on their bingo cards… Under the Constitution, states control how their electoral votes are allocated. Currently, almost every state awards all its votes to the statewide winner. This allows a candidate to win the national popular vote but lose the presidency. Small states like Wyoming have disproportionate influence. Wyoming has 3 electoral votes and 577,000 residents, while California has 54 electoral votes and 39.5 million residents. A Wyoming vote is effectively 3.8 times as valuable. Since 1992, Democrats have won the national popular vote seven out of nine times. Under the National Popular Vote compact, participating states agree to award their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner, regardless of which candidate wins their individual state. The compact takes effect once participating states control at least 270 electoral votes. So far, 18 states plus D.C. have joined, totaling 222. We need just 48 more! Democrats now have an opportunity to make that happen: * Wisconsin: 10 electoral votes. * Pennsylvania: 19 electoral votes. * Michigan: 15 electoral votes. * Nevada: 6 electoral votes. 10 + 19 + 15 + 6 = 50. 222 + 50 = 272. That’s enough to activate the compact! If Democrats also hold their lead in the Arizona Senate, the total could reach 283. Beyond correcting an imbalance that favors Republicans, this would fundamentally change presidential campaigns. Instead of concentrating their attention on a handful of swing states, candidates would have incentives to campaign nationwide. Voters in traditionally safe red and blue states would finally matter just as much. States have until July 20, 2028, to join in time for the next presidential election. We can fix our democracy. The time is now. Please like and share if you support this idea!

Hello November 🍂✨ This year moved so much faster than I could fathom. Usually the shorter days bring a kind of certain melancholic ache, watching the trees let go of everything they spent all year growing. But this time I understand them a little better. I’ve been letting go too, of old skins, old ways of being, old stories I used to tell myself about who I had to be. The trees don’t grieve their leaves. They just surrender and trust that bare is part of the cycle and that something new is already waiting underneath. #fallaesthetics #fallvibes #fallishere
