OPTIONAL. Taking $1,800 out of somebody’s paycheck because they missed a work dinner on their wedding anniversary is already wild. But sending an email beforehand saying the dinner was OPTIONAL makes this whole situation even harder to understand. Because what exactly was optional? The dinner or keeping your paycheck? And the way she handled it is probably the best part of this entire story. No big argument. No begging. She simply asked payroll to show her the written policy that allowed the deduction. Apparently, nobody could find one. Now imagine being that boss sitting in a meeting with HR and the finance director while your own email is being used to explain why you had no business taking that money in the first place. That’s an uncomfortable Monday morning. But the story gets worse when HR discovers seven other employees had allegedly been treated the same way. One was even on medical leave. Another paid $600 for missing a Christmas party because she thought she had no choice. Six hundred dollars to miss a Christmas party. At that price, the party better have included a vacation package and a new refrigerator. There’s nothing wrong with companies wanting employees to participate in events. Team dinners can be great. Holiday parties can be fun. But there’s a difference between encouraging people to show up and making them feel like their paycheck depends on it. And that’s what makes this story so interesting. She didn’t need some elaborate plan to get her money back. She had her contract, her completed work, and the boss’s own words. A month later, she says she got promoted. Sometimes the most effective response isn’t an argument. It’s asking somebody to put their reasoning in writing. That boss probably wishes he’d never sent that email.

Taz’s Angels and longtime sister wives #CatDaGreat and #AB are looking to help others explore the polygyny lifestyle!💁🏾‍♀️🙋🏽‍♂️🙆🏽‍♀️❤️ The ladies recently shared a video introducing Polyfly Experience, which they describe in the caption as “a private membership society for men and women interested in starting a [polygyny] family, building their empire, or simply understanding our lifestyle.” ICYMI: Cat and AB have been part of #TazsAngels for years, a #Miami-based group of women known for their glamorous lifestyle, social media presence, and openly sharing a relationship with a man known as Taz. Polygyny, for those unfamiliar, is a relationship structure involving one man with multiple wives or long-term female partners. #TJBCrew, could you ever see yourself openly sharing your partner with someone else? 👀 🎥: @thepolyflyexperience
