Gracias!
Y gracias a @jorge_calatayud_blasco por obligarnos a estar aquí. Tenemos un reto enorme por delante 💪💪

Sois unos cracks!! 🙌🙌❤️

Last night, we celebrated a people’s victory. 16 Democratic Socialists elected in New York. Abdul El-Sayed and other pro-Palestine candidates won across the country. The people have spoken and are demanding candidates who demonstrate moral clarity and the willingness to fight alongside our movements for economic justice, immigrant rights, climate action, and against war and genocide. This year is a turning point in our fight, from the local level to across the globe. Our victories present a hopeful alternative to both Trumpism and the Democratic establishment and we’re only getting started.

Thank you to the over 1100 volunteers who’ve believed in our campaign and provided the people-power needed to get us across the finish line. Thank you to everyone who’s been hard at work for years organizing, agitating, and building the foundation that’s led to our victories last night. Thank you to the communities of District 12 who we’re building this beautiful future with together and to the 47,000 voters who showed up to cast their ballots for our collective vision.

A better world is possible, and we’re building it here in the World’s Borough.

& yes we’re celebrating with Knafe and a Zaghroota ;)

Plucky little Poppi learning from her new sidekick, Wamata (who is closest to the camera).

To those trying to reconcile the spoiled Wamata we once knew with the calm, competent nanny you see here — we’re as surprised as you are! Wamata has really changed her tune and is blossoming into a real mini matriarch-in-the-making. This often happens, as the coddled mature and become the coddlers, but it’s always a delight to see.

In fact, despite being one of the youngest Nursery girls, she has become new rescue Poppi’s preferred nanny. This has left the senior nannies feeling rather dethroned — by a junior, no less!

Poppi is the newest addition to our foster programme. She was only rescued in September, after her mother — a famed Amboseli matriarch — succumbed to old age.

Her journey with us is just beginning — one that will lead her all the way back got the wild. Support Poppi by adopting her, as a gift for yourself or someone special: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/poppi
