Over the last week I got to work with the @tumocenter summer camp team in Yerevan, and helped run workshops and activities for 30 Armenian kids from all around the world! They joined us from Artsakh, Romania, Switzerland, UAE, Belgium, Canada, Russia, the US and Armenia.
It was particularly special meeting and spending time with those from Artsakh. In 2023, Armenians in Artsakh lost their homes because of the Azeri invasion (what we call the second Armenian genocide) and they all fled to Armenia. These kids approached each day with such wide-eye enthusiasm and a keenness to learn. It was sooo beautiful to watch and I hope they got a lot out of the week.
Across the workshops, students learned how to program robots to draw, build 3D models of historical monuments, remix traditional Armenian songs and develop their photography skills.
It was sooooo lovely to be a part of such a positive week for these young Armenians, and to help them learn, get inspired and connect with their culture. Love love loveddd being Ընկեր Սելին for the week!!! 🫶🏻
