VOLTERRA WEEK 10 (🇮🇹): …so it’s been a little while!
After a long hiatus due to a busy end to the semester, I have returned to posting on @fin_photobooth to share what I’ve been up to during the last few weeks!
Week 10 largely consisted of travelling to Nice, France for our extended travel break. Soon after returning, we got to visit Kapla Art Gallery in Volterra as a class to see some contemporary works by artists focussing on the theme of “wabi-sabi:” beauty in imperfection. Not only were the artworks beautiful, but the building itself was stunning and restored by one of our alabaster teachers (Christiano)!
I also took some time one morning to sketch in the Archeological Park, one of my favourite quiet places in Volterra. I included one sketch from that morning in this post.
Also included is a progress update on my alabaster sculpture and a photo of the evening light coming into the dorm.
