Did you know?
Marlon Brando and James Dean both auditioned for the lead role in two different versions of "Rebel Without a Cause."
In the 1940s, Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the book of the same name, and auditioned a young Brando. The project was shelved, but when a new, unrelated script 8 years later needed a title- WB used their copyright "Rebel Without a Cause." It would go on to become one of James Dean's most iconic roles.
What do you think of their screen tests?

Both apparently attracted to men... raving homo sexuals.... glad they both kept their sexual orientation private as it should be.... don't need to know anyone's sexual preferences etc..

Dean was the better choice... watching Brandos audition was poor and his voice doesn't work for this character...
