Anne recorded ‘Could I Have This Dance’ for the cultural film ‘Urban Cowboy’, released 45 years ago during the ‘80s country-pop music boom. The song was Anne’s fifth #1 country hit, topping Billboard, RPM Country and Contemporary charts in the US & Canada. The success continued with wins at the Grammy’s, American Music and JUNO Awards. ‘Could I Have This Dance’ continues to this day to be a much-loved wedding theme. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT #UrbanCowboy

Growing up my grandma and I used to play this song on the keyboard/organ and sing it together…all the time. It’s my favorite memory of her. She passed right before my wedding. On the night of my wedding my grandfather danced with me to this song. Unfortunately my grandfather is now no longer with me. But when I hear this song it always reminds me of those beautiful moments. This song will always be so special to me ❤️

So many happy memories attached to this song for me. As a child of the 80s, it was played at all family weddings and I remember the dance floor being filled with love. It’s now on my sentimental playlist- which is only for songs with good memories ❤️
