While Week 3 is about to wrap up, we'd like to celebrate and appreciate the success of Art City: Saskatoon, Week 2
‼️ And an important reminder that the next workshop this week is on Friday- NOT today ‼️

This Wednesday, we had a wonderful time with Heike Fink making felted geodes/dragon eyes! The kids loved seeing the colourful insides get revealed at the end of all their hard work rolling, squishing, and even throwing their felt balls 🌈 Huge thank you to Heike for teaching us all such an amazing art form.

-Heike Fink is a felting artist living in Prud’Homme, SK. She is self-taught and creates her fibre art using the techniques of wet felting, needle felting, and nuno-felting. Heike mostly loves sculptural work, especially animal sculptures and stones. In her art, she explores the relationship between land, wildlife, and humans and is deeply inspired by the wholesome balance in nature with rocks and animal species standing as a representation of this goal.-

We'd also like to thank the Saskatchewan Craft Council for all of their contributions that have helped make this art camp possible.

As for the rest of the week...
On Tuesday, we made nature print bandanas where we got to SMASH up all kinds of flowers to use their natural colours 💐 Later, the kids found their own sticks and made some amazing magic wands ✨ We were also treated to an awesome lunch by @thecafedelrey !

Thursday was all about weaving! 🧶 First, we started small using different types of yarn, ribbon, and more to make our own squares, then in the afternoon we went BIG. The kids worked together in two teams to weave the walls of a secret fort with all kinds of fabric.
