💪 What builds a strong team?
Is it communication, trust, leadership, accountability, or perseverance?

At LHS Plastering, we believe every great team is built on a mix of these strengths—always growing and improving together.

👉 We want to hear from you: Which strength do you think makes the biggest difference in building a strong team, and which one are you personally working to improve?

Let’s start a conversation ⬇️

One of the best things about starting this cooking account is the community we have built with all of you: sharing what our family loves and what works, and hearing from you what worked for you and where you could use more support. It was all of this that inspired our meal prep series, offering shopping lists and budget-friendly ideas.

Your questions also reminded us how much planning for our families matters, beyond what’s in the fridge. #partnership | Paid partnership with @aarpadvocates

We both work full time alongside this account, and we hope to lead by example for our kids. But hard work can’t tell us everything life has in store. When we were invited to a dinner in Washington, DC, we decided to attend because of all of you. In DC, we learned how Social Security can support families long before retirement.

And yeah how are you feeling today? Let me know 👇🏽!

If you get about 2000 competition matches in grappling or wrestling under your belt, there will be very few situations or positions in an MMA fight that will feel unfamiliar.

The majority of the new generation of MMA fighters have too little competition experience, which is part of why they deal with so many mental barriers before their UFC fights. Your body needs to adapt to adversity, the same way your muscles adapt to resistance.

Performing a technique in the training room and performing it in competition are two different experiences. The smells, the lights, the sounds, the uncertainty. All of this creates a different kind of stress that you need to learn to perform under. Training builds your skills, competition teaches you how to access those skills under pressure.

The more you compete, the more familiar that environment becomes. You learn to manage your nerves, make decisions and execute your techniques while someone is doing everything they can to stop you. With repeated experience, those responses can become more automatic.

Then when you get to a high-level UFC fight, you have years of practice functioning under competitive stress. The stakes are higher, but the feeling is familiar.

Compete often, compete with a mindset of acquiring skills, not just chasing a medal. Build that experience as an amateur so you can carry it into your professional career.
