HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis ⚠️ SENSITIVE: A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and faces m*rder and attempted m*rder charges after a sh**ting at a Spirit Halloween store left a pregnant woman dead and six others injured. At around 8:30 p.m. on Friday (October 30), firefighters responded to a shooting at the costume store at the Solano Town Center in Fairfield, California. ___________________________________________________ Preliminary information found in the investigation leaves Fairfield Police Department officials to believe the sh**ting started from a targeted incident involving one suspect inside the store. One person was killed and six others were wounded. On Saturday (October 31), police identified the decedent as 31-year-old Constance Hages. Family members told police she was a mother of four children and was also pregnant at the time of her death. Three additional victims, 16, 19, 23, and 32, and all male, remain hospitalized. All are in stable condition, except for the 19-year-old, who remains in critical condition (as of Monday, November 2). Two additional victims, another 19-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, were also shot. However, they have been released from the hospital. ___________________________________________________ On Monday (November 2), Fairfield Police revealed a 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody at a home in Suisun City. Chief Dan Marshall confirmed that officers knew the suspect’s identity shortly after the sh**ting. However, police withheld the information to avoid compromising the investigation. The juvenile suspect faces one count of m*rder. Furthermore, the District Attorney’s office could pursue an additional murder charge as the victim was pregnant. The suspect also faces six counts of attempted m*rder for the victims who were wounded. Marshall also revealed the teen suspect was arrested in a previous sh**ting in 2025.
