Did I ever post the film version of Stick, my single from (when was that?)
The title comes from the lyrics but it’s also a subtle nod to the wonderful Elmore Leonard novel of the same name.
For the visuals, which you can see above, I developed a new type of exposure therapy: using Google Street View, I retraced a few traumatic or at least meaningful treks, one in my home town, and another in Ridgewood, Queens.
The raw video was, in fact, too triggering, so I added a Nintendo 64 level of pixelation.
The lyrics do indirectly relate to the specific incidents which occurred in the locations shown in the video, but no one would know that save me and a handful of long gone friends.
As ever, lots of new just on the way. 👽
