To the little girl who once wrote in first grade that she wanted to become a writer when she grew up… you did.✨
Today, as I hold this book in my hands with my first published chapter, in a bestselling book (someone pinch me) the weight of this moment is not lost on me.
For me this isn’t just about a chapter in a book; it’s about every chapter of life that leads us here. Every closed door that becomes divine redirection. Every heart break that softens us and expands our capacity to love. Every obstacle that looks like the end but becomes the beginning. Every silent prayer whispered when we can’t see a way forward… and yet, God makes one.
A lot of us come from places and statistics that said we shouldn’t be here. But how fortunate are we that we serve a God who isn’t bound by numbers, titles, or circumstances? This chapter is living proof that even when the odds aren’t on your side, God always is.
I’ll be honest this chapter wasn’t written exactly the way I wanted or intended to write it. But after years of weighed down by the fear of failing, imposter syndrome, perfectionism and the natural doubt we all allow to creep in I said to my self “published is better than perfect.” I wanted to be an example of what I always preach that sometimes we have to do it scared.
I’ve come to believe this: that in our greatest obstacles there is still purpose. There is meaning buried inside the pain, and the life you’ve been dreaming of is often waiting on the other side of what you thought would hold you back.
This moment is for every creative who wonders if their gifts matter. For every dreamer who has ever crawled out of the fire with nothing but faith left in their hands. You are going to make it.
And a huge thanks to my clients who believe in me and have made so many of my dreams come true I’m standing here too because of you. I love you all.
And to my younger self, to my late mother who I wish more than anything, to every version of me who never gave up:
We made it. Keep going.
This is a song I play for her anytime I accomplish anything because 1. I know she’d want to know I got there safe and 2. I know her prayers are still protecting me
