#climbing update, everyone 😍
I finally got my project, which is only 2,632miles away from home.
I first saw Sharky 🦈 in the guidebook in May 2022, I was convinced I can get it. I didn’t…the start was just too tough. Skip to 2025 in May, when I decided to give it a spontaneous try after a warm up on top rope…I got all the moves first attempt - oh wow I can do this! Did I really? Full disclosure: not even close 😅
The most demotivating thing happened…I had a rest day, rehearsed everything in my mind, had good food, felt ready. The next morning I put on my shark underwear 🦈🩲, warmed up, watched my mum do her first ever lead and went to #sendit 🤘🏻
I try not to cry at attempts but this was pathetic.
I had an audience that day, and that didn’t help either…I told them I’m here to send and I couldn’t even get off the GROUND 🥲 what the actual heck?!!!
The route is called Sharky because it eats your fingers. It has small sharp handholds at the start, lack of footholds and the top section is just sharp. As @43110_0harry described it - I looked at it and it seemed like the beginning of the route fell off.
August 2025 after a day in the sun, a long paddle session to and back Telendos, no warm up whatsoever - IT HAPPENED…at sunset 🌅. I got to the third clip and was so scared(didn’t warm my brain up) but by the 4th clip I was like - I am not going through this again.
This climb celebrates a full circle. In May 2022 I started climbing for myself, my whole life has changed since then and Sharky felt like it closed that circle. It was a celebration of life. So happy🥹 . CLIMB ON.
