Hello, November. I welcome you with open arms and an expectant heart, believing that you come carrying blessings meant for me. May you bring peace that settles deep, joy that overflows, and favor that follows me through every door I walk through. May the days ahead be kind, the opportunities plenty, and the grace upon my life unmistakable. But more than anything, November, I receive you with gratitude. I am grateful to God for bringing me, and all of us, this far. For the months behind us that held both laughter and tears, for the strength that carried us through, and for the mercy that met us every morning. Every breath that brought us to this month is a gift we did not earn but were freely given. So hello, November. Thank you for arriving. Let’s walk together….blessed, grateful, and full of hope. 🙏🏼
To everyone caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s, this post is for you. A few days ago, my beautiful mother-in-law Margaret, aged 87, lost her husband of over 65 years. She was just 21 when they married. Now she’s facing life without the man she has spent almost her entire adult life with. And she is living with Alzheimer’s. Spending time with her has been incredibly precious. She may not remember what we did yesterday, but the Margaret I know and love is still there. The cheeky, funny, kind, caring woman who has been such an incredible mother-in-law to me. With patience, reassurance, affection and making her feel safe and loved, I still see her beautiful personality shine through. Those moments mean everything. Margaret has never been one for girly pampering, but recently she’s started letting me give her facials, massage oils into her skin and simply look after her. And she absolutely loves it. Seeing her relax, smile and enjoy that attention brings me so much happiness. It’s taught me something important. Just because someone living with Alzheimer’s struggles to care for themselves doesn’t mean they’ve stopped wanting to feel beautiful, comforted, confident and cared for. Dignity doesn’t disappear with memory loss. Neither does the need for tenderness, affection or human connection. Margaret has given me so much love and kindness over the years. Now it’s my turn to step up and be there for her. But I won’t glamourise caring for someone with Alzheimer’s. It’s hard. Relentless. Frustrating. Emotionally and physically exhausting. There are moments when your patience is tested and you feel completely overwhelmed. Being of service to someone you love isn’t always easy. But it can be deeply rewarding. I’m learning that love isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, again and again, even on the difficult days. There are so many of us navigating this journey, with its heartbreaks, challenges and precious little moments of joy. Even when someone may not remember what you did for them , the comfort, dignity and love they felt in that moment matters. Memories may fade, but our responsi

Every American lost last night. Republicans are bitching and moaning. Democrats are celebrating. But where’s the message about how either side is actually going to make YOUR life better? Instead, the message I’m hearing is: get ready for subpoenas. Get ready for investigations. Get ready for revenge. My fear is we’re headed into another two years of the same bullshit. Democrats propose something, Republicans fight it. Republicans propose something, Democrats fight it. Everybody campaigns on fixing the country, then spends their time trying to destroy the other party. And who pays the price? WE THE PEOPLE. Your bills don’t stop coming because Congress is fighting. Your groceries don’t get cheaper because somebody won a political argument. Your family doesn’t get ahead because another politician got subpoenaed. Accountability matters. But governing has to mean more than investigating your opponents. A nation divided is a weak nation. We cannot keep piling up debt, ripping each other apart, and assuming America will prosper just because we’re America. Our enemies benefit when we’re too busy fighting each other to solve our own problems. If I were the president or leading the Democrats, I’d sit down with the other side and say: “The election is over. We have a country to run. Let’s find common ground and get something done for the American people.” You don’t have to agree on everything to accomplish something. So celebrate or complain about last night’s results all you want. Until our leaders put the people ahead of their parties, we’re all losing. We deserve a government that works for ALL Americans.
