Some people may see me on the left as “fun” and me on the right as a “restricted Christian.”

I called myself independent, empowered, free. But truth? I was self-centred and a slave to my desires.

I became a Christian as a teenager. But after being raped in my early 20s, I ran from God. I chased healing everywhere but Him: relationships, success, distractions, even drugs. I pushed boundaries and used my body for gain. Nothing worked. Nothing healed.

Then Jesus met me in the pit. He pulled me out. He rescued me. He gave me spiritual life.

So now I live for Jesus and my identity is no longer rooted in my gender, sexuality, career, relationships or political beliefs. No, my identity is found in Jesus.

If you were to strip away every component that makes up your identity, what would you be left with? Would you be left with a precious, valued, and treasured human who was created in the image of God to have a relationship with Him through Jesus? A relationship that promises eternal life?

So if you’re feeling trapped by trauma, your past, fear, or addiction. If you’re living for your career, health, money, or other people. If you’re struggling to figure out your true identity. Know this: there is a way to live fully, freely, and with peace.
His name is Jesus.
