Each beach here holds a new, lush aquarium; schools of petite fish in underwater forests. Sea urchins needle (at? towards?) you from their nests in the rock… then later you eat the freshest one you’ve ever had — like sea butter — cooked in house made linguine and stewed tomatoes. You sit poolside with your best friend who has known every good, bad and ugly version of you over 13 years and sometimes you hack up your lungs laughing too hard, other times you enjoy pure silence with no discomfort; always an undercurrent of quiet, unspoken love. Soles of your feet bruise on hot stone beaches where you stagger over to buy oregano chips and lemon Fanta. In the quiet channels between earth that once sustained early civilization you feel moments of true serenity. Anyway, tl;dr Greece is great, thank heavens for vacation, and I love @jamiedenton.
