Meet our Top 10 Finalists competing in the 2025 HOOKED! Songwriting Contest!
It’s Bre Henely!
@bre.henely
At 26 years old, singer-songwriter Bre Henely is carving out her own path through the music world from the heart of the Ozarks. Music has always been part of her life, but connecting with Branson’s vibrant songwriting community helped her realize it was time to give her songs the space to breathe and be heard. Bre writes from the heart, letting emotion guide the melody rather than the market. With a sound that defies easy classification, she blends elements of folk, indie, pop, and country — or sometimes none of the above — letting raw emotion lead the way. Every lyric she writes and every note she sings comes from a deeply personal place; raw, unfiltered, and honest, making her music feel more like a conversation between hearts.
She performs under a stage name that incorporates her grandmother’s maiden name — a tribute rooted in love and loss. Her first song was written in the wake of her grandmother’s passing, a cathartic beginning to what would become her songwriting journey. That moment not only marked the start of her music career but also solidified the emotional honesty that defines her work today.
Whether performing in an intimate coffee shop or working on new material at her piano, Bre Henely draws from real experiences, untold stories, and the quiet strength found in vulnerability. Rather than trying to fit into a genre, she focuses on creating music that makes people feel seen, heard, and less alone. Bre is currently focused on producing and releasing her original work to streaming platforms, with plans of performing live and connecting with audiences very soon after. With a growing catalog of songs and a heart full of stories still to tell, she’s just getting started — and is definitely one to watch.
