Shares of Reliance Industries Limited surged 8 per cent after the company became the first Indian company to post a half-yearly profit of more than ₹50,000 crore, lifting its market capitalisation above ₹17 lakh crore. The company reported consolidated profit of ₹52,746 crore for the first half of FY27, a record on a recurring basis. The milestone followed a strong September quarter, in which revenue rose to a record ₹3.62 lakh crore, the highest ever for a second quarter, and profit climbed about 34 per cent from a year earlier. The oil-to-chemicals business was a key driver of the performance, delivering strong growth across the quarter. Reliance Retail Ventures also contributed, reporting a 6.4 per cent rise in gross revenue to ₹91,716 crore. During the quarter, Reliance invested ₹38,153 crore in capital expenditure, mainly on oil-to-chemicals and new energy projects and on expanding its consumer businesses. Reliance is among India’s most valuable listed companies, and its quarterly results are closely watched by the market. Investors responded positively to the numbers, pushing the stock sharply higher and adding substantially to the company’s market value. The results also underline the strength of its diversified business, which spans energy, retail, telecom and digital services.

Reliance makes about ₹22 lakh of profit every minute, and yet its stock is sitting close to a 52-week low. In July to September 2026, Reliance posted its best quarter ever, with a profit of ₹29,550 crore, revenue of ₹3.62 lakh crore and its highest-ever EBITDA of ₹62,409 crore. Three engines made it happen: 🛢️ Oil and chemicals had their best quarter ever, as Reliance switched crude sources during the West Asia supply shock 📱 Jio reached 542 million users, with operating margins above 50% 🛒 Retail is in build mode, with online grocery up 42% and quick delivery across 1,000+ cities A result tells you what already happened. A share price is a bet on what comes next. I’ve done a detailed analysis of Reliance’s results. Comment “RESULTS” and I’ll send it to you. Disclaimer: This is not investment advice.
