This Avocado mantis (๐๐ต๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ข๐ต๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข ๐ด๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ณ๐ช๐ข) is going through a delicate procedure that oftentimes takes days to be fully completed, where it's wings will finally unfurl after a few hours as she enters her adult stage, her exoskeleton will harden in the next 2-3 days enough for her to resume hunting, and her vibrant green & yellow colors will show up after about 1 week

What beautiful and poetic images! And the first sentence in your comment, I think it is true for all creatures, including us! ๐๐๐

Amazing creatures, I was once privileged , to observe a mantis calmly resting on a tree stump. I was quite close , great detail. This went on long enough that I was ready to move on. Of a sudden the forearms shot out and a great fat moth was captured. Did not take long for the non nutritional parts to be trimmed off . The main prize was gobbled up directly. Glad that I had been granted the patience to remain and observe. There is a great network of activity going around around that most people chose to be unaware of.
