Texas Democrat James Talarico clinched victory in a key Senate race over Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton, ending three decades of GOP dominance over statewide elections in the deep-red state.

With 66% of the vote reported, Talarico had 59.5% to 39% for Paxton. It marked Democrats’ third flip of the night, and they need to net four pickups to win back the Senate.

Voter backlash against Trump administration policies and the political charisma of Talarico, 37, helped Democrats finally secure a hard-fought win after past election cycles of dashed hopes. A Democrat has not won a statewide race in Texas since 1994.

Couldn’t resist getting the new iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the biggest dilemma was choosing between the Burgundy and Blue. So obviously, I got both! I absolutely love how both colours look, and I’m especially excited to put these to use for my content, pictures and videos. Also, my pink customised iPhone 17 Pro Max is staying with me because there’s no way I’m giving up on my favourite colour. 🎀🫶🏻
