I’m really into the weaving part of being a weaver and can sometimes drag my feet around the documentation side of things. For those of you who have ever tried photographing a piece of fabric and immediately found it challenging to translate into a photo or noticed that the colors were not accurate or the cloth suddenly looked flat or quickly distorted, you feel my pain. But this past summer I made a point of taking photos of some of my recent work and I’m grateful for the effort I put in, mainly because I feel a shift in what I’m making.

For the past few years, I’ve been focused on weaving scarves. Partially, this is because I myself love a good scarf and am fairly obsessed with wool. Also, I deeply enjoyed working with Jaggerspun wool in particular. Since their closure, I’ve found myself exploring other fibers and making other things. I’m not done with wool (like, ever) and I’m not finished with scarves, but for the time being, I’m making other things. I’ve got a few scarves left in my inventory right now so if you’re interested in one, come to the pop-up at @gardenpartyavl this Saturday! See ya soon 🙃
