Toriyama wrote Dragon Ball for Shonen Jump Magazine, which is owned by Shueisha. Shueisha and Bird Studios (Toriyama’s company) own Dragon Ball together. Outside of that, certain companies and entities were given rights/licenses by Toriyama and Shueisha. Toei has anime license, Bandai Namco have games and toys rights.
