Watched over by the Shag Bark Hickory and White Oak.

The place that helped to shape your future,
your love for natural spaces.

We ran through the golden hour, leaves ablaze with Fall’s colors;
reflections in the Mississippi River of memories of family and friends past.

Thousands of steps
into the familiar.

Owls calling in the dark,
and raindrops plopping on the leaf-covered trail.
A perfect symphony in the quiet of the night.

Thank you for sharing with me this glimpse into one of your sacred places.
