Today started like any other day, but it won't end like any other day.

Today, a member of our family won't be with us this evening.

She won't lay at our feet hoping someone will drop some popcorn. She won't be there for Dad to get on the floor and play tug of war with her baby.

This post is really hard for me. "She's just a dog", some folks say.

Anyone that truly knows me understands how much this dog means to me. How much she means to our family.

She's had a rough life. About 6 years ago, a spinal impingement rendered her paralyzed on her rear legs and tail. She was given 50/50 odds on if she'd walk again.

She did walk again. Then she ran again. Things were going great, but the arthritis set in. And the back legs weren't working like they should. I've been carrying her outside for about a year.

Even during the rough times, she's filled our hearts. I hope these photos show that.

Thanks Reese, for 12 wonderful years. Through the good times and the rough times.

She's laying next to me as I write this. I hope she doesn't think I let her down at the end of the day.

What a shitty day.
