Yesterday, a student muntah on the bus otw back home to jkt down a wavy road, and as we in Bus 3 went into crisis management mode, cleaning up and assisting costume change and got tissues etc to help each other (
#SiswaJagaSiswa), someone asked me why was i so chill and unfazed with muntah, i just shrugged: ya duh of course, that's part of my jobdesc rite.
That was a valid question. Which led me to this anecdote. One time way back jaman kelas satu sd, little-me had a mencret incident at school while in uniform, and a class teacher of mine taught me step by step: wash the dirty parts, cuci tangan wajib pake sabun, replace & neatly pack the dirty uniform, make sure my chair was clean again. I think she realized this fragile boy was already embarassed and stressed, so there she herself helped clean my smol butt, washed my browned-up pants, all by hand.
Years after i too kept asking, Bu, why were you so chill and unfazed with mencret. So, this small random essay is to document that core memory of mine. Sadly i cannot remember nama Ibu, also cannot remember your face anymore, but, old-me still carry that day, and i'll make sure to continue paying forward your kindness however i can ya, Bu.
