The families in power all profit from fossil fuels, they can and will control the leadership in their favor. Even if all alternative energy sources are more profitable, they will manipulate the western world and keep it from switching, as it is easier than changing your entire business model.

Important to understand that electricity generation is replaced, but oil consumption for transportation still consumes oil unfortunately
