Local people carried each other through that mess. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I also experienced a lot of kindness and selflessness in our community. I will never be the same.

Before what I noticed most about neighbors was what kind of toys they had. A motorcycle, boat, or camper in their driveway told me they liked to have fun. Now we pay more attention to who all has side by sides and chain saws and generators like “Oh nice, they’re gonna be one of the ones that makes it when things go wrong”. 😂
