Enjoooooyyyy!!!
Comments like these used to kill me, especially the ones about things I can’t change, or where I felt completely misunderstood. I hope sharing a small sample of critique shows you that you really can’t win. Trust me, I’ve tried. Today, I’ve made peace with it. Here’s what genuinely helped me because I know my younger self would have really benefited from this: 1) Forgiveness The comments that hurt most are usually about things you haven’t made peace with yet. For me, that was my past: decisions I made out of young insecurity, and decisions I made to scale my business at all costs. They hurt because I hadn’t forgiven myself and was still carrying shame. Once I accepted that God had already forgiven me, those comments lost their power. You can’t shame someone for something they’ve already made peace with. Once I forgave myself, I could forgive the people who wrote them. Hurting people hurt people. The best I can do is see their hurt, pray for their healing, and not let their negativity change how I see myself anymore. 2) LOVE people I only realized how untrue many of these comments were once I started being a better friend & daughter, specifically once I started affirming others and truly loving on people. When you see the good in others and tell them, in some strange way, you start seeing the good in yourself too. The love you give also gets poured back into you. When your real life gives you evidence that you’re loveable, meaningless comments online don’t affect you anymore because you know it’s simply not true. There’s no more doubt. 3) Write letters to your haters. There used to be this person on Reddit who had next-level hate for me. So I wrote them a letter and let myself rage, pen to paper. Writing it out releases it from your body so it can’t control you anymore. 10/10 recommend. You also can’t change the mind of someone set on misunderstanding you. Even Jesus was criticized no matter what he did (Matthew 11:18–19). If people couldn’t agree on him, they’re not going to agree on me. It’s always easy to judge when you’re not the one in it. What people have to say often says more about what’s unresolved in them than it does about you.
🚨 CLINICIANS — WHAT’S YOUR EYE CATCHING IN THIS GAIT? 👀 Every step tells us something. But great clinicians don’t just observe movement… they know what to look for and WHY it’s happening. When evaluating gait, challenge yourself to look at the entire kinetic chain. 🔍 🦶 INITIAL CONTACT: Is the foot striking the ground appropriately? 🦵 WEIGHT ACCEPTANCE: Is the patient demonstrating adequate stability and control? 🏋️ HIP & PELVIS: Are you noticing compensations, asymmetries, or abnormal movement? ⚡ PUSH-OFF: Is there adequate propulsion and lower-extremity power? 🧠 THINK BEYOND THE DEVIATION: Is the underlying issue related to strength, mobility, motor control, or neuromuscular function? THE BIGGER PICTURE: Don’t just identify what looks abnormal. Develop a hypothesis, test it, and determine WHY the patient is moving that way. 👇 PUT YOUR CLINICAL EYE TO THE TEST! 1️⃣ What specific gait deviation are you observing? 2️⃣ What impairment would you investigate first? 3️⃣ What would you test to confirm your hypothesis? Let’s hear your clinical reasoning! 🔥
