Words can't express the loss I feel today..
But I’ll do my best.
Dear Prophet/ Uncle/ Grandpa Ron,
For as long as I can remember, you have always been a constant in my life. My mom has told me stories from when I was a baby and I was just completely enamored when you spoke. I remember running up to make sure I got a hug from you after the end of each service. I remember being upset if you weren’t there for whatever reason. I remember you being there and comforting me when my gram died. I remember you there when my brother died. I remember your encouraging sermon after my niece died. I remember you contributing to my dream of going to school in New York and praying for me. I remember you asking the church to help in any way they could when I went to school in LA 2 years after that. I remember so much of my life where your presence is attached. I don’t know how much time you have left in your physical body here with us but what I do know is that it has been a privilege and an honor to learn from you and to have you be in my life. My grandpas on both my mom and dad’s sides were not really in my life, but whenever someone asks about who my grandpa is your face is the one that pops into my head. I thank you for filling that role in my life. I know you won’t want me to be sad that you’re gone because you’ll have gone home, and on a basic level I know that but the world will feel this loss. I will feel this loss for the rest of my life. I will keep you alive in my heart, and in the lives of my family now and the family I create in the future. Thank you so much for being the caring, strong, inspiring, powerful, and Godly man that you are and for helping to shape me into the woman I am today. I love you from the bottom of my heart, always and forever.
Love your niece/ bonus granddaughter,
Tia💗
