Mostra Coffee, the award-winning local brand that grew from a garage startup into a Padres partner, is confronting at least 10 San Diego lawsuits, eviction proceedings, five state wage claims and allegations of bounced employee paychecks, while customers report disappearing inventory and unfulfilled orders. Former workers are speaking out, creditors are taking legal action, and questions are mounting about the company’s future. Now, Mostra’s founders are responding to the controversy, revealing serious personal and financial challenges while insisting the business is not closing.
