The American people have made clear that they cannot afford life under Trump and Republicans. The Senate Democratic Majority will fight to make life affordable again.
The results are in! Following the vote across our website and Facebook group, Machka the Anatolian Shepherd Mix is officially elected the 3rd Honorary Dog Mayor of New York City, with a final tally of 4,877 votes to 4,589 votes for Dr .Computer Chips the Shih Tzu! It was an extraordinarily close race—the lead changed hands 12 times throughout the day, with a surge in voting in the last hour—but Machka’s momentum proved decisive! Dr. Computer Chips will assume the role of Machka’s right-hand pup, serving as Deputy Dog Mayor of NYC! We’ll have a fuller breakdown of the round’s results in our next Substack entry, so read and subscribe at the link in our bio! We want to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Computer Chips and all of the pups who ran for NYC Dog Mayor—it’s a grueling process and we’re grateful to all who participated. Our gratitude extends to our followers and supporters from both NYC and around the world—over 20 countries voted in the final round alone, proving that our message of positivity, kindness, fun, and civic engagement knows no borders! But the ballot-casting isn’t over! Please get out and VOTE in today’s Human Being Election Day, to ensure that Machka isn’t the only great person elected to office this week! Machka and Dr. Chips will take the Oaf of Office at our indoguration ceremony on the steps of NY City Hall on Sunday, January 17! The ceremony will mark the Peaceful Transfer of Pawer from our current Mayor Simon, who has served with great dognity and forthrightness! And keep an eye on our Instagram, Facebook page, and our website for updated brackets, info about upcoming contests and events, and more! #DogMayorNYC

Is that mine? Not my usual content but our horse (that we have a small share in) won the Melbourne Cup! Haha. I’m not quite sure what we do with ourselves now as this has never happened before but it looks like we are back to @crownmelbourne to celebrate! Also, we probably should’ve gone to the mounting yard for this one @jessierobertsx 🤦🏽‍♀️
I loved our Sinners dance so much that I want to share a few details about the costumes and choreography that made this week of @dancingwiththestars extra special to me ❤️ Some of you thought I was playing Annie from the film, and you weren’t wrong! But while dancing, what I really had in mind was a combination of several women in the story. The cowrie shells in my hair were especially intentional. They were inspired by Yemoja, also known as Yemayá, a Yoruba water deity associated with motherhood, fertility and protection. In West Africa, she was associated with rivers, but as enslaved Africans were forced across the Atlantic, her story traveled too, and she became associated with the ocean. I loved the idea of carrying some of that history and symbolism into our dance. And then there was the story @janravnik told in his choreography. My character didn’t stay in the juke joint, trying to keep the vampires from coming in. She goes OUT to fight one! And I was very clear with Jan about this... 😂 Yes, I turn into a vampire, but you are NOT going to win! I’m going to take my power back, and then I’m going to take yours too!!! That was the story we wanted to tell. There was so much intention behind this dance, and I love how Jan brought it all together ❤️
