Americans across the country are voting in Tuesday’s midterm elections, where major polls and prediction markets predict Democrats will win the majority of both House and Senate seats.

Republicans hold a 53–47 Senate majority, so Democrats need to gain four seats to take control.

Key Senate races are in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, and North Carolina. Current polling from @nytimes/Siena and traders on the prediction market Kalshi expect Democrats to win the Senate races in all these states, except Iowa, where polling shows a toss-up.

We will also be following Senate races in Georgia, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

President Trump has urged voters this midterm cycle to act as if he were on the ballot and has cast Democratic candidates as far-left radicals. Meanwhile, many Democrats have centered campaigns on blaming Trump for cost-of-living issues. The elections will therefore be a major test of where voters stand on Trump’s second term.

The first polls close at 6 p.m. ET Tuesday, with the last closing at 1 a.m. ET Wednesday in Alaska.

All anyone is talking about is the mid-terms and Michael Che on a hot new WMBD. In equal measure. Look at how young and probably faded we were in this pic (prob 2014). Some whiskey, a lot of great stories and obviously some peeves.

It feels like a lifetime ago, but it was only 3 years ago when it seemed like everything was falling apart. In the same year, I went through a divorce, packed my life in Dubai into boxes and traded my home for a storage unit. I unexpectedly had to shut down the company I co-founded and spent several years building, and nearly went bankrupt taking legal action against the business partner who caused it.

That same year, I struggled through 4 rounds of egg freezing in a foreign country, and had also entered a relationship that was slowly breaking me down (which I eventually began to understand was abusive).

I was severely burned out, my nervous system was in shambles, I had hit financial rock bottom, I was living out of a suitcase with an abusive partner and no support system, and I had no idea where I was going next with a career I had poured my whole self into.

But what I didn’t know at the time was that life was paving a new road for me. Everything had to burn down before I could see that it was making room for something better. What came with the re-build was far more meant for me. Far more purposeful. Far more aligned. And gave me freedom and fulfillment I could only have dreamed of in that past life.

The unfamiliar is so fucking scary. But trust it. Life guides you towards what is meant for you if you just allow it 💛
