✦ π˜–π˜―π˜¦ 𝘝π˜ͺ𝘴π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯 β€’ 1985 ☁︎ Queen in the studio | Freddie, Roger & Brian ❀༉ Sometimes the loveliest moments are the ones that were never meant to be performances. Just musicians in a room, working through ideas, disagreeing over a few words, and making each other laugh. ❀༉ For the anniversary of One Vision, released in the UK on November 4, 1985, here’s another little glimpse into Queen’s recording sessions. This time, Freddie, Roger and Brian are trying to make the lyrics fit the music, and the whole exchange is wonderful. ❀༉ Roger has an idea, but Freddie isn’t convinced. Roger insists the words will fit, while Freddie keeps telling him they won’t. Finally, Freddie asks him to sing it. Roger gives it a try, Freddie and Brian start laughing, and Freddie declares, β€œIt’s a complete edit! It’s a complete edit!” ❀༉ I love seeing them like this. Four strong personalities, each with their own musical instincts, able to challenge each other and still have so much fun together. We know the finished song so well, but these little moments remind us of all the conversations, experiments and laughter behind it. ❀༉ And Freddie’s laugh! His expressions, his teasing, the joy on his face when something makes him laugh. I could watch this part again and again. It’s lovely seeing him simply enjoying himself with the people he’d spent so many years making music with. ❀༉ In 1986, One Vision would open Queen’s concerts on the Magic Tour. Here, we get to see a little of the work and playful chaos that came before those unforgettable performances. ❀༉ That laugh of Freddie’s is infectious. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing it. πŸŽ₯ Queen β€’ One Vision recording sessions, 1985 🎞️ Edited by me for creative/fan purposes Β© Queen Productions Ltd. ⚠️ Tribute only-no copyright infringement intended. #freddiemercury #queentheband #liveperformance #freddiemercurylegend #80s
Sen. Darline Graham suffered a stunning loss Tuesday in a race that President Trump pushed her to run, conceding to Democratic challenger Annie Andrews in a typically deep red state. With 89% of the vote counted, Andrews, a pediatrician and gun-safety advocate, had 50.8% of the vote, to 47% for Graham. South Carolina hadn’t elected a Democratic senator since 1998, and Trump won the state by 18 points in 2024. At Trump’s direction, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Graham in July to the seat of her brother, the late-Sen. Lindsey Graham, for a term that expires in January. The president and his aligned super PAC MAGA Inc. backed her in the primary to counter criticism that she was unprepared for the job or insufficiently conservative. Republican groups supported Graham with tens of millions of dollars in ad spending for the general election, outpacing Andrews, who largely relied on her own fundraising. Follow along for full live coverage.
