Raise or Rise?

Both words refer to a noun increasing, lifting or going up.

we use RAISE to say one thing makes another thing increase, lift or go up.

Example:
We raised our prices
I raised my hand

We use RISE when we want to describe one thing increasing, lifting or going up by itself - there is no second object or external force in the phrase helping it increase.

Example:
The cost of oil rose
Inflation is rising
