Anjali Gulati organizes Green Dharma (@greendharma_dmv) with Interfaith Power & Light (DC.MD.NoVA) (@ipldmv), organizing Hindu, Jain, and Sikh communities around climate action. Centered on environmental justice and energy sovereignty, IPL-DMV partners with congregations through clean energy projects, education, and advocacy to shift away from fossil fuels and toward cleaner, healthier, and safer systems of living. Anjali also works at the environment–society nexus as an environmental economist with Morgan State University’s Patuxent Environmental & Aquatic Research Laboratory (@morganstpearl), where her research helps inform state and federal agencies—including the Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers—by conducting surveys and data analysis that support responsible decision-making. Anjali graduated with her Masters in Political Economy from Georgetown University with a focus on environmental economics after studying economics & finance at Morgan State University, where Anjali’s perspective was shaped by learning the history of environmental injustice in the United States and around the world.
