I’m grateful to @benverdery for commissioning “Shred of Shred” as a solo set piece for the Yale School of Music guitar admissions cycle 2025. The twist? All graduate applicants received an unmarked score, requiring them to shape their own phrasing, dynamics, tempo, and articulation.

In this short composition, I channelled the energy and showmanship of iconic electric guitarists into their acoustic counterpart - this performance by @emmett.edwards is certainly high-voltage ⚡️
