I think the most impressive thing here is that he's looking at the camera more than where he's walking. It was slippery today! Safe travels, friend.

![Jackson Councilman Kenneth Stokes’ Meltdown Goes Viral After Woman Allegedly Mentions His Mama During Meeting
Blogged by: PoliGirl
Jackson Councilman Kenneth Stokes is at the center of a viral controversy after an explosive confrontation with a woman during a city council meeting brought government business to a standstill. The November 3 incident has become a major talking point on TikTok, where clips of the heated exchange are dominating timelines and drawing attention to what was supposed to be a routine discussion about data center development.
The chaos unfolded when Stokes, who represents Ward 3 in Jackson, Mississippi, introduced a proposal to overturn Jackson’s temporary ban on new data centers. Residents had gathered to oppose the proposal, but the discussion quickly turned personal.
At one point, Stokes became visibly upset after claiming a woman in attendance had made a comment about his mother.
“I don’t fight women, and I never fight them, but I cut that [expletive] out,” Stokes declared.
The confrontation appeared to involve Candace Abdul-Tawwab, executive director of Mississippi for a Just World, an organization that has publicly opposed data center development.
Stokes continued directing remarks toward Abdul-Tawwab and other protesters, including a comment targeting their religious identity.
“Take the rags off your heads. Y’all are not Muslim,” he said.
The Jackson Councilman Kenneth Stokes confrontation quickly escalated as audience members began chanting “get him out,” while Council President Vernon Hartley attempted to restore order.
Councilwoman Tina Clay called for a recess, and several council members began leaving the chambers. Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney and other officers eventually stepped in to clear the room.
The meeting was initially suspended for an hour before officials postponed the remaining business until Thursday, November 5.
But Stokes wasn’t backing down.
“Black people know you don’t talk about nobody’s mama,” he explained while defending his reaction. “If you’re so immature that you’re going to bring up my mama, then I’m going to handle it the way I did.”](https://scontent-mia5-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-15/886679691_18700050238043519_503603499193786703_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_p720x720_tt6&_nc_cat=1&ig_cache_key=NDAyMzMxOTU2ODk3Nzc4MTUzOA%3D%3D.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkNBUk9VU0VMX0lURU0ueHBpZHMuMTA4MC5zZHIucmVndWxhcl9waG90by5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=gG50Puz-4k4Q7kNvwHdjKo0&_nc_oc=Adr4oNVrNdBkr1hzfyWlB6EpjeJ0fyDMW-LKMAywYyWHCOXvz7nTLuadG-SqCGo92HxtyURkzQlJZGQn2pbWbA8f&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-mia5-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=GuOu-w2GuPKIZbMYK5_spQ&_nc_ss=70180&oh=00_AQTGeTNwRxB6pHzq7h_JlRGbPRRN4iLHjh1xhnZ9z8S_kQ&oe=6AF199C2)
