If you work Monday–Friday in England & Wales, have 25 days of annual leave, and bank holidays are given on top of that allowance, this is how to book your 2026 leave for maximum time off.
This plan assumes:
• You’re based in England or Wales
• You work a standard Mon–Fri job
• You get 25 paid leave days
• UK bank holidays are extra (not deducted from your allowance)
If any of those don’t apply, adjust accordingly.
When to book:
📌 Book Easter and Christmas as early as possible, these are the most competitive weeks.
📌 Many companies open holiday booking in January (some earlier). Set a reminder now.
📌 If your workplace has limits on how many people can be off at once, prioritise Easter first, then Christmas, then May.
Screenshot your approval and move on with your life
Important notes:
This does not include school-term optimisation
• Scotland has different bank holidays (this is not for you, respectfully)
• If you work shifts, compressed hours, or part-time, the maths changes
• Always check your employer’s leave policy.
Save this.
Future you will be grateful.
