Year-end 2025 wrap post. This year, my relationship with dance changed in ways I didn’t anticipate. It got complicated. My body grew another year older and I couldn’t dance as long or go as hard. The studios still welcomed me but it was harder to find my tribe in them than it used to. Teachers are still as talented as they have always been, but their routines became routine, not because they didn’t offer anything new, but because I couldn’t find anything new to be excited for. It’s not you, it’s me. 🫶
Perhaps worst of all (or the opposite depending on whom you ask), I realized I didn’t miss going to studio classes anymore. That it didn’t fill my day with as much joy, and in fact I began to dread signing up for them. The people in them mattered more to me, not the rooms.
So to the friends I had the pleasure to spend time with in those spaces, thank you for being there and for sharing yourselves with me throughout the year! You’re all so freaking talented and truly what makes dance so special to me.
This is 2025 in video form: from highlights like a music video and stage performances, to a collection of classes, workshops, training groups, and rehearsals. This is still meant as a celebration because I will always love dance. Classes aren’t off the table, but right now my heart is wandering, and I’m looking forward to where my heart finds itself in 2026 💙 Happy New Year everyone!
