🙏🏽Massive thanks to @mayeni_jones for creating this piece for @bbcnews across the world on BBC News Channel on TV 📺 as well as this written version
✒️ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwywv4ndwqxo.amp
🛥️ Being aboard the @capetownpelagics boat trip with Mayeni was incredible and brought the Global Birdfair 2025 project, Safeguarding Ocean Species to reality plus a massive worldwide audience.
🎏We were also were fortunate enough to visit the Ocean View Centre to witness the amazing work there making Tori - Bird Scaring - Lines for fishing vessels, supported by @birdlife_sa
🇿🇦 The 2025 ‘Muriel’ South Africa section will soon be positioned in 2 locations near Cape Town- one at Hout Bay, thanks to @pescaluna_cpt and the original at Simonstown, thanks to @saveurrestaurantsimonstown
🎨Thanks to all the artists who contributed to the murals especially @john.cox1 for coordinating everyone!
🇫🇯 One section will be in Fiji Museum
🇫🇰 One section will be in @malvinahousehotelfk Falkland Islands
💙 THANK YOU to everyone for making Global Birdfair 2025 such a worldwide success, from a field in Rutland @lyndontop
💚 Everyone’s contributions are crucial for Global Conservation - without you all we simply could not create the impact we know the event itself provides.
👀 Looking forward to 2026 - watch this space
