Home Alone will never feel quite the same again. This Christmas will be the first without Catherine O’Hara, whose portrayal of Kevin’s mother, Kate McCallister, became part of the holidays for generations. She played the role in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Her bond with Macaulay Culkin continued long after the films, with the two still calling each other “Mom” and “Son.” She later celebrated his Hollywood Walk of Fame star alongside him, embracing him as he wiped away tears. 💔

In a desperate election day move, Trump claimed he reached a deal with Benjamin Netanyahu to end US military aid to Israel — which some are calling “a seismic shift in American foreign policy.” But that’s not what’s actually happening.

In July, the House voted 216-212 to pass a national defense authorization act that takes a huge step towards meshing the U.S. and Israeli militaries.

Instead of ending military aid, they’re moving it into the Pentagon budget, and mandating more integration with the Israeli military, not less.
