I don’t love the Gregorian calendar but for 2025…
I’m proud I didn’t let the heart ache eat me alive. The lessons came with a lot of tears but also a profound curiosity of who I am and a deeper understanding of myself.
I allowed myself to love deeper, be more vulnerable, and extend more empathy for everyone including myself.
And overall I just let myself be fucking happier.
Most importantly, I’m glad I kept my humanity while living under a government and culture that demands I freeze in despair, and hoard all the compassion for myself. Every move they make to tear us apart from each other (physically or emotionally) made me approach the world with more kindness. I can’t stop a fascist takeover alone, but I can attempt to keep this tiny corner of the world a little softer.
