“I married my best friend, believing we had our whole lives ahead of us. But just a year later, I was begging a doctor to save her life...”

"In 2018, I met Ritika when I returned to work after taking a break to be with Papa as he battled cancer. I was feeling lost at the time, and meeting her brought some comfort into my life...

I still remember seeing her on our training day. I thought she was beautiful, but I was too shy to approach her. Thankfully, a mutual friend helped us start talking."

“Soon, we were sharing lunches, cracking jokes and gossiping at work. Ritika was kind to everyone. Even when I couldn't afford lunch, she would happily share hers with me. I fell in love with her kindness, and the way she made me feel. At a time when life felt difficult, she brought happiness back into it.”

“We were best friends who loved spending time together, and somewhere along the way, we fell in love. We never had a grand proposal. When her family started looking for a match for her, we realised we couldn't imagine life without each other. So, on 8th February 2020, I married my best friend!”

“We went to Bali for our honeymoon, adopted a beagle named Ginger, watched movies, cooked together and enjoyed the little things. We dreamed of building our own house and having children. I even applied for a better job, hoping to give us the life we dreamed of.”

“But on 18th April 2021, our lives changed forever…
Around 2 am, Ritika came out of the washroom, saying, ‘Mujhe bahut zyada sar dard ho raha hai!’ I thought it was just a headache. I massaged her head and gave her a painkiller, hoping she would feel better. But soon, she started vomiting. After the second time, she lost consciousness. I rushed her to the hospital. An MRI revealed a massive brain haemorrhage, and she needed emergency surgery. Before the operation, the doctor warned me that the bleeding was so severe, she might not survive. I couldn't hold my pain, I begged him, ‘Sir, whatever you can do, aap usko kaise bhi karke theek kar do. Rest, I’ll take care of.’”

“Ritika underwent a long surgery. She also developed pneumonia. Everyday I would whisper to her, ‘Can you just wake up and come back home? I really

What is Mutton Kundan Kaliya?

Mutton Kundan Kaliya is a royal Awadhi dish that originated in the kitchens of Lucknow’s Nawabs, who were famous for their luxurious food. The word Kundan means pure gold, while Kaliya refers to a traditional meat curry. The dish is known for its beautiful golden colour, which comes from ingredients like saffron and turmeric. In some royal preparations, edible gold leaf was also used to decorate the dish, making it a symbol of wealth and grandeur.
What makes Mutton Kundan Kaliya special is its delicate flavour and rich, silky gravy. Unlike the spicy mutton curries we commonly eat, this dish focuses on subtle aromas and slow cooking. Tender pieces of mutton are cooked with yoghurt, ghee, fried onions and fragrant spices, sometimes with saffron and kewra water. The beauty of this dish lies in the patience and skill required to prepare it, making it a wonderful example of Lucknow’s royal culinary heritage.

Now that the prize is in hand, we can officially congratulate Barbara Kensinger of Cottonwood, California, the winner of our modded 911 Turbo S giveaway! And she's keeping the car! Launch that mother fucker every day, Babs!
