Last month I sat in the room at VA Innovation Partnership Corp’s (VIPC’s) Lab-to-Launch Lunch & Learn and watched VA make a very bold move for founders, researchers, and investors 🔥🔥🔥
Lab-to-Launch is a statewide initiative designed to fast-track commercialization for high-growth tech coming out of Virginia’s research universities.
Here’s what you need to know to be dangerous:
1. Virginia Fast-Track License
– Standardized, founder-friendly IP terms
– Moves licensing from 9–12 months down to roughly 30–60 days 👀👀👀👀👀
– No upfront or annual fees for startups 👀👀
2. Up to $50,000 in commercialization funding
You COULD qualify for up to $50K in VIPC funding to cover patent, licensing, and early commercialization work.
3. Real support + visibility
Entrepreneur-in-Residence guidance, digital IP catalogs so industry can actually find your tech, and deeper investor connections across the Commonwealth.
And this part is time-sensitive:
