I’ve always wanted to host a worship night.
Not for a stage, not for attention but for moments like this.
My faith has always been the most important part of who I am. When I came to college, I didn’t just want a degree… I wanted a deeper relationship with God. I started small inviting people from school to church with me, praying with friends, trying to create space where faith didn’t feel awkward or forced.
This semester, that dream became real.
Michael and I had no budget. No money. No flashy setup. Just prayer, obedience, and a desire to bring people together. Black or white, different organizations, different backgrounds it didn’t matter. We wanted one room where everyone could feel safe, seen, and welcomed in the presence of God.
And God showed up.
I still think about the hugs, the tears, the worship, the community. I think about how something so simple became something so sacred. This night reminded me that when you lead with faith, God will always meet you there. This semester wasn’t easy. Sophomore year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. I was constantly busy, constantly tired, and if I’m being really transparent… my attitude reflected that. I was overwhelmed, trying to juggle school, leadership, faith, and life all at once and sometimes I didn’t do it gracefully.
I lost people. I gained people. Some relationships changed, some faded, and some surprised me in the best way. But through every high and low, God never left. Even when I felt distant, even when I was exhausted or frustrated, He was still covering me, still guiding me, still reminding me why I started this journey in the first place.
As this semester closes, I’m thankful for what stayed, what left, and God who never did.
