Rankin/Bass made A LOT of stop-motion Christmas (and other holiday) specials, but it's hard to argue against the stance that the best three are Rudolph (1964), Santa Claus is Coming' to Town (1970), and The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974).
The Year Without a Santa Claus has Heat Miser and Snow Miser, Santa trying to finagle his was out of his one day of work per year, and Blue Christmas for some reason.

I swear, Jingle and jangle look like goofy renditions of John C. Riley and Owen Wilson- ๐

I think this is where Rankin/Bass peaked. Everything else afterwards varied in quality in my opinion.
