Every step toward a better version of yourself will get a label from someone standing still. That label is not proof you are wrong, it is proof you are moving. Let them talk and keep going. Btw, poetry book “Between Heaven & Earth” is out now. It’s a collection of poems about love, heartbreak, loneliness, inner struggles, healing, and the quiet journey of understanding yourself and life along the way. If you’d like to read it, comment “Book” and I’ll send you the link. [poetry, poet, thefallenpoe.t, victorianpoetry, selfgrowth, discipline, mindset, letthem, poetrycommunity]

Our next episode brings together three powerful voices connected by family, culture, music, and the lasting legacy of Nipsey Hussle. 🇪🇷🇺🇸 From the streets of South Central Los Angeles to the roots of Eritrea, Blacc Sam, Bino Rideaux, and Dawit Asghedom represent a story of perseverance, entrepreneurship, brotherhood, and the importance of building something that lasts beyond a lifetime. From Blacc Sam’s work alongside his brother Nipsey Hussle building The Marathon Clothing and continuing his legacy, to Bino Rideaux’s rise in West Coast hip-hop, his collaborations with Nipsey, and their long-awaited joint album Prolific, to Dawit Asghedom’s journey from Eritrea to America and the cultural foundation he helped instill in his family—this episode is powerful, emotional, and deeply inspiring. From conversations about Nipsey Hussle’s life and legacy, growing up in South Central LA, Eritrean heritage, family, fatherhood, brotherhood, music, entrepreneurship, ownership, community empowerment, and the importance of continuing the marathon, this episode is packed with wisdom, perspective, and inspiration. We are blessed to have Blacc Sam, @binorideaux, and Dawit Asghedom on One54 tomorrow! Audio will be available wherever you listen to podcasts at midnight and on YouTube at Noon EST tomorrow!
You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both.
@andystottmlove marches back into the club, subs cranked. Around 2012, worried he’d run out of ideas, Andy Stott called his old piano teacher, Alison Skidmore. It sparked a creative reinvention that produced the seminal albums Luxury Problems and Faith In Strangers. These days the word “pop” is often attached to Stott’s music. His RA Mix, however, stripped almost entirely of vocals and melody, is about as far from pop as it gets. Made up of 12 unreleased productions, RA.1063 opens with his familiar heavy footfall. From there it’s industrial steppers all the way, the odd hi-hat cutting through chugging sub bass. It’s the kind of rhythm you can picture a whole crowd moving to in unison, pushing deeper into a vast, dark space. Listen via the link in bio.
